Nabarangpur, 30th Oct 2025, A joint meeting of the Health Department and the District Social Welfare Department was held today at the Ashok Mehta Conference Hall under the chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Maheswar Swain. The objective of this meeting was to identify and overcome challenges related to the health and nutrition of mothers and children through coordinated action plans, thereby improving maternal and child health outcomes in the district.
The aim is to ensure that all government-provided benefits and facilities reach the intended beneficiaries easily. Instructions were issued to ensure that pregnant women from remote areas of the district can safely reach Ma Gruha (Maternity Waiting Homes) through the coordinated efforts of all CDPOs (Child Development Project Officers) and Medical Officers.
The CDMO (Chief District Medical Officer) of Nabarangpur was requested to make arrangements for issuing birth certificates to all children aged 0 to 6 years. Discussions were also held on conducting health check-ups of infants weighing less than 2 kilograms within three months of birth and preventing blindness among children.
All Anganwadi and ASHA workers are to be informed by the CDPOs and Medical Officers that free medical treatment will be provided under this program.
The meeting was attended by CDMO Dr. Santosh Panda, Additional District Magistrate Prakash Kumar Mishra, ADPHO (Additional District Public Health Officer) Dr. Malay Kumar Tripathy, District Social Welfare Officer Daupadi Kahar, DPM (District Programme Manager) NHM, and other officials from the Health Department.
