Jharsuguda, 11th Oct 2025: The road from Jharsuguda SP office square to the district main hospital was illuminated on Thursday. This will benefit the public, including passengers from Laikera and TV areas, traveling to the hospital at night. Approximately 3 to 4 kilometers of road has been covered by this lighting arrangement, which has made 689 local residents happy. This lighting is also expected to reduce antisocial activities along the roadside.
According to information, the district main hospital located at Bali Jor was inaugurated on January 4, 2018. Since then, 7 years have passed, but the road from the SP office square to the district hospital had not been illuminated. As a result, there were traffic issues at night along with increased antisocial activities. Jharsuguda MLA Tankadhar Tripathy intervened in this matter.
Later, in a joint effort by MLA Tripathy and the Municipal Council, on the 6th, Urban Development Minister Krushnachandra Mahapatra came and laid the foundation stone for the lighting of the road from the SP office square to the main hospital road. Subsequently, lights were installed along Bhakta Road, illuminating the road.
MLA Tripathy said that this lighting arrangement has been made for the convenience of the people. There is also a master plan for Jharsuguda in the coming days, which will be dedicated to the people
