Jharsuguda March, 9:To accelerate the overall development and beautification of the city, the District Collector Kunal Motiram Chavan conducted a visit to Brajarajnagar today.
During the visit, the Collector inspected several proposed and ongoing development projects and reviewed their progress. He directed the concerned departmental officials to complete the construction of the Indoor Stadium, aimed at strengthening sports infrastructure, and the drama pandal being built for cultural development at the earliest.
He also held discussions with the concerned departments regarding the development of Gol Chowk ground and the construction of a local market complex.
For environmental and tourism development, special attention has been given to the renovation of the picnic spot along the banks of the Ib River and the beautification of the riverfront. Plans have also been prepared for the development of an Eco Park and the construction of a modern crematorium keeping in mind the needs of the local population.
As a major step in the field of social security, the Collector has instructed the Executive Officer of the Municipal Council to establish a state-of-the-art old-age home.
To improve traffic management and cleanliness in the city, the Collector adopted a strict approach. He directed the officials to remove all illegal encroachments along the National Highway, keep the roads clean, and undertake beautification measures.
