Jeypore Devottar Extends Invitation to Nandapur

Nandapur,27th Sept 2025:  From the historic royal seat of Nandapur, the symbolic items such as the Lathi (ceremonial staff) and Patakhanda (royal sword) will be carried by the appointed sevayats (temple priests) of the Raja (king) to Jaipur. As per royal tradition, the Dussehra festival rituals will be observed in the Jaipur royal premises. Today, representatives from the Jaipur royal estate and Devottar Department extended a formal invitation to the Nandapur Devi Peeth (temple complex) and its sevayats to participate in these rituals.

Carrying the invitation letter and other ceremonial items, the Raja’s envoy—Debasthan Nayak Madhusudan Nayak, Bhairavi of Bagei Padar, Gangama priest of Pesrani, and officials from Jaipur Devottar Department including Sandeep Dalei and Sumanta Kumar Sahu—visited Nandapur.

They personally handed over the royal invitation letters at several significant temple seats in Nandapur, such as:

The prestigious Batrisa Singhasana Peeth (Thirty-Two Thrones Seat),

Bhairava Peeth,

Bhandaragharaani, and

Duarshuni Peeth,
inviting both the deities and the sevayats to be present at the royal Dussehra rituals.

The messengers conveyed detailed information about the royal order and the ceremonial protocols to be followed. Symbolic items of each Peeth—like the Lathi and Patakhanda—are to be taken to the Jaipur royal premises for participation in the Dussehra rites.

Those who received the royal invitation included:

  • Bhubaneswar Dalapati from the Dalapati family,
  • Gobardhan Pali from the Pali family,
  • Ramchandra Batagharia from the Batagharia family,
  • The priest of the Batrisa Singhasana Peeth,
  • Priests from the three Bhairava temples,
  • Priests of Bhandaragharaani temple, and
  • Duarshuni temple priests.

As per the royal decree, all agreed to participate in the Jaipur royal Dussehra rituals, carrying the symbolic representations of their respective Peeths
