Jeypore: A general body meeting and election of the Jeypore Citizen Committee, a prestigious civic organization of the town, was held today at its own premises. In this important meeting, several key issues were discussed in detail, and the committee’s election was also conducted.
Out of a total of 83 votes, Mrs. Binodini Santapatra was elected as the President. Mr. G.V. Reddy was elected as Editor, Mr. Harihara and Ms. V. Reshmi were elected as Vice-President and Joint Editor, respectively. While Ms. Reshmi secured 49 votes, Krushna Keshab Sadangi got 33 votes, and the remaining votes were rejected.
The meeting was chaired by outgoing President Mr. Madan Mohan Nayak. Other prominent attendees included Debendra Bahinipati and Bhawani Shankar. The election process was supervised by Dr. Suresh Das.
After winning the election, Mrs. Binodini Santapatra stated that the committee would work to resolve various civic issues of Jeypore including:
Stray cattle and dogs on the roads near Jagannath Sagar,
Problems faced by patients in the medical facilities,
Other pressing civic concerns.
She emphasized that the committee would take these matters seriously and work in coordination with the government and district administration to address them.
