Bhubaneswar, Feb 23: All properties belonging to Mahaprabhu will be freed from illegal encroachment. A high-level meeting was held to ensure the protection of land owned by Shri Jagannath. It was decided that a dedicated Land Sub-Division or “Land Cell” would be opened by the Revenue Department for this purpose.
The high-level meeting was held on Thursday at Lok Seva Bhawan in the conference hall of the Revenue Department under the chairmanship of Revenue Secretary Dr. Arvind Padhee.
Protection of Mahaprabhu’s Land Is Our Moral Responsibility: Revenue Secretary
It was decided that a review meeting regarding the protection of Shri Jagannath’s land will be held on the first Wednesday of every month under the chairmanship of the Khordha District Collector.
During the meeting, the Secretary directed officials to take necessary steps to implement all decisions of the Supreme Court of India and the Orissa High Court regarding the protection and restoration of Shri Jagannath’s land.
Dr. Padhee stated that Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath is the symbolic landlord of the Odia people, and protecting all His land properties is everyone’s moral responsibility. He emphasized the need for correction of land records (khatiyan) of all properties registered in the name of Shri Jagannath Mahaprabhu Bije, Puri, through the Shri Mandir Managing Committee, and for the speedy resolution of pending cases.
Discussions were also held on freeing temple administration land in various tehsils of Khordha district, especially near national and state highways, from illegal encroachments.
It was further decided that regular review meetings would be conducted at the state level under the direct supervision of the Revenue Secretary, along with district-level meetings in other districts as required.
Khordha District Collector Amrit Ruturaj, senior Shri Mandir administration officer Debabrata Sahu, senior officials of the Land Reforms Wing of the Revenue Department, the Khordha Sub-Collector, and Tehsildars were present at the meeting.
