Nabarangpur, Feb 21: With the goal that every Odia devotee can have darshan of the Lord, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched the Shree Jagannath Darshan scheme from Nabarangpur.
On the first day, 500 devotees from Nabarangpur, Bhadrak, Baripada, Sambalpur, and Brahmapur started their journey toward Puri for darshan.
The Chief Minister said that the target is to enable darshan for 5,000 beneficiaries this year and more than 1 lakh eligible beneficiaries over the next four years.
During his visit, he also laid the foundation stone for the long-awaited medical college for the district. The proposed medical college and hospital at Patalguda will have 100 MBBS seats and 420 beds, and is planned to be established within 20 months.
