Bhubaneswar, 5th Nov 2025: The International Day for Older Persons was celebrated by the Regional Resources and Training Centre at the new convention hall of Utkal University. The inauguration of the event was done by Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan. The program was attended by notable dignitaries including Utkal University’s Vice Chancellor Jageshwar Dandapat, former Chief Secretary Sahadev Sahu, NRCWD Secretary Sukanta Kumar Parida, and journalist Nageshwar Pattnayak.
On this occasion, a workshop was organized on “Older Persons Driving Local and Global Action: Our Aspirations, Our Well-Being, Our Rights.” In the morning, a walkathon was conducted by NSS and NCC students to raise awareness. Additionally, a health check-up camp was organized by doctors from KIMS Hospital.
Law Minister Harichandan stated that the state government is always committed to ensuring the rights and welfare of senior citizens.
