Nabarangpur, Jan, 01: In the Inter-District Under-14 Cricket Tournament being held at Kuranga Sasan Ground, Cuttack, under the aegis of the Odisha Cricket Association, the Nabarangpur team registered a convincing victory in their final group match by defeating the Boudh district team by 9 wickets.
Batting first, the Boudh team was bowled out for just 60 runs, losing all their wickets. Chasing the target, Nabarangpur reached the required score in 10 overs, losing only one wicket, and comfortably won the match.
For his outstanding performance, Anish Kumar Biswal was adjudged Man of the Match. He bowled 4 overs, conceding only 8 runs and taking 2 wickets.
With this victory, the Nabarangpur team has secured the top position in Group B, finishing ahead of teams from Jajpur, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Boudh, and Kendrapada districts.
The team is led by Rita Harijan as captain, with Lambodar Soura serving as coach and Shashank Shekhar Behera as manager.
After learning of this success, the Cricket Association Secretary Prahallad Tripathy, Media Coordinator Manoj Kumar Patnaik, Joint Secretary of the District Sports Association M. Balakrishna Rao, Cricket Secretary Ashok Nayak, along with other association members and senior former sports personalities of the district, extended their congratulations to the team.
