Konark: 6th Nov 2025: Under the aegis of the Odisha Higher Secondary Education Council, an inter-college cricket match was organized by Konark Bhagavati College. The match was aimed at students of class 9 and above. In the zonal-level finals, Puri S.C.S. College defeated Konark Bhagavati College and became the Puri Zone champion.
The match was inaugurated by Konark College Principal Avtar Mishra as the chief guest. Due to rain interruptions, a 10-over special match was conducted. Winning the toss, the Puri College team chose to bat first and scored 86 runs in their allotted 10 overs, losing all wickets. In response, Konark College managed only 70 runs in 10 overs, losing 4 wickets.
As a result, Puri S.C.S. College qualified to play in the council-level match for the zonal championship. Durga Prasad Dash was declared the Man of the Match for his all-round performance. Two top players from Konark College were nominated to participate in the council-level net match.
The match was officiated by former club cricketer Ramesh Swain and former inter-college cricketer and journalist Gyan Ranjan Biswal. The sports program was conducted under the supervision of professors and captains Vinay Bhushan Mahanti and Surendra Khatua. NCC students from Konark College also assisted in organizing the event.
