Intellectuals Convene to Deliberate on ‘One Nation, One Election’ Policy Proposal

Nabarangpur An intellectuals’ conference on the topic “One Nation, One Election” was held at the local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office. The event featured State team member and coordinator Soumyakant Jena and State team member Rajesh Kumar Pattnaik as the chief guests and keynote speakers. The meeting was chaired by BJP Nabarangpur Dis trict President Kunj Bihari Das.

Former district president Jagadish Chandra Beshoyi and State Yuva Morcha executive member and Chamber of Commerce President Kahnu Das, along with General Secretary Achyutananda Beshoyi, senior worker Mrutyunjaya Das, and Municipality Chairman Kunu Nayak were also present on the dais. The event was moderated by General Secretary Debadas Mahankuda.

During the discussion, it was stated that implementing One Nation, One Election would help reduce unnecessary election expenditures and contribute to forming a stable government in the country. It would also help prevent frequent mid-term elections. Although some intellectuals expressed concerns that this may require constitutional amendments, the general consensus was that it is not impossible.

Prominent attendees included Senior Citizens’ Association President Radhanath Behera, Ramamurti Pattnaik, B. Prasad Rao, Prabhakar Patra, Lalu Satapathy, Mamata Maharana, Jyoti Benya, Kishori Pattnaik, Swarnalata Pattnaik, and various organizational representatives.
