Nabarangpur, 22nd July 2025: For the first time in Odisha, an Odia Alphabet Park has been developed in Nabarangpur. This beautiful and intricately constructed park, spread across 28 acres in the forested area of Farshaguda village under Kodigaon in Kosagumuda block, was inaugurated today.

Panchayati Raj Minister Shri Ravi Narayan Nayak attended as the chief guest and inaugurated the park, also participating in a ceremonial tree plantation. He announced the development of an Amrit Sarovar, a canal, and cottages within the park premises.

During the event, a book by the Forest Department was also released. The park stands as a symbol of Odia identity and pride. It features a special design where trees have been planted in rows based on each Odia alphabet from “A” to “La”, totaling around 1,200 saplings.

Constructed with an expenditure of over ₹60 crore, the park houses various thematic gardens, including a fruit garden, flower garden, herbal garden, and a spice garden. Another notable feature is a map of India displayed within the park, showcasing saplings representing each Indian state based on regional characteristics. Informational displays about each state’s flora are also provided, making the park not just a place of leisure, but also a space for learning and mental peace.
