Nabarangpur, 7th Oct 2025: As continuous rainfall caused by a low-pressure system persists in the Nabarangpur district, 763 mm of rainfall has been recorded in the past 48 hours. Due to this sustained rainfall, the water level in the Indravati Reservoir located in Khatiguda has risen to 640.670 meters as of 8 AM. With the reservoir’s full capacity being 642 meters, the water level is gradually increasing due to heavy rainfall in the upper catchment areas.
On October 4 last year, the reservoir’s water level was 637.040 meters, which was 63% of its capacity. In contrast, this year it has reached 88.4% of its capacity.
As there is a possibility of the dam gates being opened, the dam authorities have issued warnings via loudspeakers, urging residents in the nearby areas to remain alert.
Water levels continue to rise. On Saturday, the dam authorities warned the public to stay cautious.
