Kotpad 23rd January 2025 Education is power. The goal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build a developed India is being realized through the New Education Policy (NEP). This policy aims to prepare students and the new generation comprehensively for creating a modern and empowered society. The NEP emphasizes building a strong foundation in primary education and focuses on qualitative education. State governments have taken   decisions regarding its implementation. From the upcoming academic year, the NEP will come into effect.

During a three-day national workshop on the National Education Policy 2020, organized at the Lok Sabha Bhavan’s seminar hall, Chief Minister Mahon Majhi expressed his views. He stated that the state government has initiated steps to strengthen the foundation of primary education. Under the Gadagarish Mishra Model Primary School Scheme, at least one school in each panchayat has been developed as a model school.

Efforts have been made to reduce dropout rates among tribal students under the “Shaheed Medha Sanhata Kharucha Yojana.” The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of pre-school education and announced the opening of “Shishu Baatika” (Children’s Parks). These centers will focus on developing basic literacy and numeracy skills among children without putting any undue pressure on them.

For the upcoming academic year, a robust framework has been prepared. Priority has been given to teacher recruitment, preparation of textbooks, and the provision of other teaching aids. The NEP also focuses on integrating sports into education and emphasizes the use of technology in teaching. Steps have already been taken to provide education through technological means.
