New Delhi, Feb, 10: India have won the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026. Team India defeated England by 100 runs in the final. This marks the sixth time that India have become world champions at the Under-19 level.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s 175-run knock, along with a strong performance by the bowlers, guided India to a historic victory. England had an opportunity to end their 28-year title drought, but they failed to overcome the challenge posed by the Indian team.

In the final played in Harare, India batted first and posted a massive total of 411 runs — the highest score ever recorded in an Under-19 World Cup final. Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed 175 runs off just 80 balls, hitting 15 fours and 15 sixes. In reply, England managed only 311 runs.

At one stage, England were struggling at 177 for 7, but a fighting century from their batter (Jaleb) brought them closer to victory. He played a brilliant innings of 115 runs off 67 balls. However, his effort was not enough to end England’s title drought.
With this win, India have strengthened their record as the most successful team in Under-19 World Cup history, claiming the title for the sixth time. Australia follow with four titles. India had previously won the Under-19 World Cup in 2000, 2008, 2012, 2018, and 2022.

Captain Ayush Mhatre has earned a special place in history for leading India to this landmark triumph.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi was the architect of India’s victory. He completed his century in just 55 balls — the fastest hundred ever scored in an Under-19 World Cup final. He then reached 150 runs in just 71 balls. His explosive 175 off 80 balls in the final proved to be the turning point of the match and laid the foundation for India’s memorable World Cup win.
