During the Mega Job Fair, Dr. Aqib Javed discussed in detail the National Career Service (NCS) Portal of the Government of India. He highlighted that NCS is a major national initiative designed to connect job seekers with employers. “It is a one-stop platform offering career guidance, skill assessment, training, and information on job vacancies across the country,” he said.
Addressing HR professionals and students, he informed that currently around 30 lakh vacancies are available across India through the NCS portal. He further added that under the Government of India’s Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana, first-time job seekers are being provided incentives of up to ₹15,000, while employers receive incentives of up to ₹3,000 per month for every new appointment. Encouraging the youth, he emphasized the importance of staying updated, being confident, developing digital literacy, and expanding one’s skills and mindset.
Inaugurating the Mega Job Fair on Friday, Professor (Dr.) Vikas Dhawan, Director General of IMS Noida, said that industries today need skilled youth, and students require platforms that can provide opportunities aligned with their abilities. He stated that IMS Noida has always been committed to building a strong bridge between academia and industry.
Referring to the ‘Make in India’ initiative, he said the campaign will achieve its goals only when the nation’s youth become truly industry-ready. “This is the golden time to start your own startup and also ensure that Indian companies get competent, trained, and capable talent,” he said. Sharing his experience, he added, “Since the 1990s, I have often heard that jobs are not available. But the truth is that opportunities always existed, exist today, and will continue to exist. The real need is to prepare oneself according to the changing times, develop the right skills, and understand industry expectations.”
