Nabarangpur, 30th Oct 2025,  More than a hundred volunteers of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) were injured after being attacked by a swarm of bees during a path sanchalan (route march) in Nabarangpur town around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to reports, a large number of bees suddenly swarmed and attacked the volunteers participating in the march, causing panic. The volunteers ran in all directions to escape, but hundreds were stung, and about 25 volunteers had to be rushed to the district headquarters hospital for medical treatment.

Among the injured, Sudhanshu Shekhar Bisoi, Raghunath Ray, Santosh Rao, and Tusharkant Jha were reported to be in serious condition.

The incident occurred near the Market Insurance Office, in front of the District Council (Zilla Parishad) office in Nabarangpur. Over 1,600 RSS volunteers from across the district were taking part in the procession when the attack happened.

It is suspected that some miscreant intentionally provoked the bees by hitting their hive, which triggered the sudden attack and led to the chaos.
