Baliguda: The cremation ground is the final resting place for every human being. With a resolution to keep it clean and environmentally friendly, just like every year, this year too the villagers have cleaned the cremation site. Such a scene was witnessed at the cremation ground in Greenbadi Panchayat under Daringbadi Block of Kandhamal district.
It is often seen that villagers only visit the cremation ground when someone passes away to perform the last rites. But at other times, the place remains neglected, leading to overgrowth of wild trees and vegetation, making the surroundings look abandoned.
To improve this situation, a planning meeting was held in the village, and a cleanliness drive was conducted on Friday. Under the leadership of village committee president Dharmendra Nayak, along with Litu Kumar Nayak, B. Uttam Shobhasundar, Subarna Singh, and many others, over a hundred villagers participated in the cleanup drive.
