Baliguda, 7th Nov 2025:  From the temple of Goddess Sri Sri Sri Maa Patakhanda, the presiding deity of Baliguda region in Kandhamal district, the donation boxes (hundis) located inside and outside the temple were opened on Sunday evening in the presence of the temple committee members — Chairman Sannyasi Patra, Secretary K. Sushant Kumar Patra, Treasurer Maheswar Dakua, and all other members.

According to information received from the committee, a total of ₹66,500 in cash, along with two silver-like limbs (a hand and a leg) and one silver eye, were found inside the hundis. All the collected money and items were handed over to Treasurer Mr. Dakua, who was entrusted with the responsibility of keeping them safely in the committee’s own locker in the presence of everyone.

After a long time, the counting and collection process was carried out openly before all committee members, the general public, and police personnel. For this act of transparency, the new temple management committee received appreciation from the local residents.

In his statement, Secretary Mr. Patra said, “Since the day we assumed responsibility, we have been publishing detailed written reports of the temple’s monthly income and expenditure in front of the temple for public awareness. We will continue our efforts to make temple management more transparent and error-free in the days to come.”
