Horticulture Dept Launches First Palm Oil Cultivation in Danda, Dashmantpur Block

Dashmantpur  – For the first time in the block, palm oil cultivation was inaugurated in Bad village under the initiative of the Horticulture Department.

At the event, Assistant Horticulture Officer (AHO) Saurav Panigrahi addressed the farmers and provided a detailed explanation about the palm oil crop, including how farmers can benefit significantly from its cultivation. He offered technical guidance to 8 farmers on how to plant palm oil trees on 40 acres of land.

In collaboration with the Government of Odisha and the company involved in palm oil, the plantation was formally inaugurated in Dandabad village, Koraput on 2nd June.

The participating farmers included Padman Lochan Bishoie, Ghasi Jani, Keshab Hikaka, Harishchandra Bagh, Prafulla Miniaka, and Laxman Bishoie, among others.

Present at the event were AHO Sumitra Khara, Field Officer Sushanta Hial, Girlingumma Panchayat’s Nayak Sarpanch Gauranga Bagh, and Herada Bagh.

AHO Saurav Panigrahi further stated that in the coming days, palm oil cultivation will be expanded to other villages, enabling local residents to benefit from this crop.
