Home Tuition Costs 15 Times More Than Government Schooling

Bhubaneswar, 1st Sept 2025: According to an education report released in Bhubaneswar, the average cost per student for education in government schools is ₹2,098, whereas it reaches ₹31,391 in aided home tuition schools and ₹40,452 in unaided home tuition schools. This means parents bear an economic burden about 15 times higher for educating their children in home tuition schools compared to government schools.

This increase is seen both in rural and urban areas. While the education cost in rural government schools is around ₹1,899, it is ₹17,553 in home tuition schools. In urban areas, the cost is ₹3,516 in government schools, but even higher in home tuition schools.
