Home Guard Dies in Tragic Road Accident in Nandapur

Nandapur: A house guard named Manas Bag (34) lost his life in a road accident near Dusura village square on MDR-55 road under Nandapur police limits. The deceased was serving at Koraput Town Outpost-1. He was traveling to Nandapur on his Bullet bike from his home in Deoghati for some work when an unidentified vehicle hit him near Dusura square. Taking advantage of the darkness, the vehicle fled the scene.

Critically injured, Bag was immediately taken to Koraput Hospital in a 108 ambulance. However, the doctors declared him dead upon arrival. His brother, Robert Bag, reached Nandapur and lodged a complaint at the police station. The Nandapur police registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem at the Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital in Koraput.

After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family. Efforts are underway to trace the unidentified vehicle responsible for the accident, according to Nandapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mamata Panda.
