Hirakud: The Land Acquisition Officer from the Additional Water Discharge Channel Project, Hirakud Dam Office, has issued a notice today through loudspeakers, instructing the residents of the Gujatala area to vacate their homes. On the upcoming dates of 12th and 13th, houses will be demolished to facilitate the construction of additional spillways.
The displaced residents of Gujatala have already been provided with financial assistance for resettlement. They have been given both land and money to build new homes. However, despite these provisions, many people have not yet vacated their houses.
