On Sunday, i.e., June 1st, the Hirakhand Express (both up and down) will not run via Brahmapur and Vizianagaram. The train route has been changed. From both directions, it will now operate via Rayagada, Titilagarh, and Sambalpur. Passengers have been requested by the Office of the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, East Coast Railway, to take necessary precautions.
According to departmental sources,
modernization work related to safety is underway on the Waltair Division’s Nellimarla–Garividi section, where auto-commissioning is being carried out. Keeping this in view, the department has changed the route of several trains and cancelled a few.
The 18447 Bhubaneswar–Jagdalpur Hirakhand Express, which was scheduled to depart from Bhubaneswar station on the night of June 1st, will not run on its usual route. Instead, it will travel via Sambalpur, Titilagarh, and Rayagada to reach Jagdalpur.
Similarly, the 18448 Jagdalpur–Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express, departing from Jagdalpur station in the afternoon of June 1st, will also travel via Jaypur, Koraput, Rayagada, Titilagarh, and Sambalpur to Bhubaneswar.
Additionally, the 20837/20838 Bhubaneswar–Junagarh–Bhubaneswar Express will run in both directions via Sambalpur, Titilagarh, and Rayagada.
