Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education Department has intensified efforts to fill non-teaching posts in universities and colleges. All colleges have been asked to submit reports detailing which positions are vacant and how many posts are lying unfilled. They must submit this information in a specified format by the 19th of this month — within just three days.
The instruction specifically seeks data only for posts under the “Grant-in-Aid” system that receive regular salaries; posts under “Block Grant” are not to be included, as per clear directives.
Approximately 2,000 vacant posts will be filled through the State Selection Board. Higher Education Minister Surya Banshi Suraj has informed that no changes have been made to the previous recruitment guidelines for these non-teaching positions.
The matter of speedy recruitment was also discussed during the recent Vice-Chancellors’ meeting held last Tuesday. All pending promotion processes are expected to be completed in April. Additionally, the department aims to complete the recruitment process for these non-teaching positions within the next three months, before the start of the new academic session.
