High Alert Issued in Puri; Security Tightened at Shri Jagannath Temple

Puri, 17th Nov 2025:  Following a major car explosion near Lal Kila in the national capital New Delhi, a high alert has been issued in Puri on Monday. Security arrangements at the Shri Jagannath Temple have been significantly strengthened.

Tight security checks are being conducted at all four entrance gates of the temple. Bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs are patrolling around the temple, while security forces equipped with modern weapons have been deployed in watchtowers.

Police forces have also been deployed at the railway station and bus stands. Vehicles entering Puri are being stopped and thoroughly checked. Information about tourists staying in hotels is being collected. All police station officers in the district have been instructed to remain alert.

Superintendent of Police Prateek Singh has reviewed the security arrangements. Anti-terror vehicles are patrolling around the temple. Suspicious locations and persons are under strict surveillance.

Similarly, vehicle checks are being carried out at key locations such as Malatipatpur Bus Terminal, Samang Bus Stand, Jagannath Ballavbahu Ground, Jail Road Ground, Acharya Harihar Chowk, and Yatrika Panki. Railway police and coastal police have also been involved in the security inspection process.
