Help Needed for Depressed Individuals

Bhubaneswar,  16th Sept 2025: A suicide prevention and precious life safety awareness program was organized on Saturday by the National Crime Investigation Bureau Odisha at the Khageswar Vidyalaya campus in Samantarapur Panchayat, Rasulpur block. The program was chaired by teacher Mahendra Kumar Mahanti. Under the direct supervision of Bijnor district officer Baidyanathan Sahu, the main guest was Rasulpur Block Assistant Education Officer Prabhanjan Pati, chief speaker was CRC Jitendra Sahu, and the honored guest was Bureau’s State Director Sudam Charan Das, along with other guests who participated in the awareness program.

Chief Education Officer Jayanti Nayak, who also participated prominently, spoke about the causes of suicide.

She highlighted that due to various reasons in today’s society, many young people are suffering from depression and becoming victims of tragic and unfortunate incidents like suicide. Depressed youth should not be ignored by society.

Every individual must come forward to help depressed people. The guests said that if efforts are made to relieve them from depression, incidents like suicide can be prevented. They also said that during times of depression and sorrow, one must remain patient and face the problems.

By doing so, one can save precious lives and see a new dawn of hope. Teachers Ashok Sahu, Biren Mahanti, Sukadev Patra, Karshik Chandra Bhuyan, and others actively cooperated in organizing the program. Thanks were also given to teacher Ramakrishna Mahakuda.
