Bhubaneswar, 29th Sept 2025: A low-pressure area has formed over the Bay of Bengal, and another one is likely to develop soon behind it. There is a possibility of the new low-pressure system forming on September 25.
Due to this, heavy rainfall is expected to continue across the state until September 28.
The upcoming low-pressure system may intensify further and take the form of a depression.
This may result in heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of the state.
The system is expected to develop into a depression by the evening of September 26 and is likely to cross the south Odisha–north Andhra Pradesh coast on September 27 (daytime).
A yellow warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for 7 districts today.
Fishermen have been advised to stay away from the sea as sea conditions are expected to be rough.
