Heavy Rain Expected in Western Odisha and Nearby Districts Until July 7

Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic circulation persists over southern Jharkhand and adjoining areas. The spell of rainfall will continue in the state till the 7th. Particularly, western Odisha and nearby districts may experience heavy rainfall. There is a high chance of increased rainfall from the 5th to the 7th. After that, the intensity of rainfall is expected to decrease. This has been forecasted by the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre.

Floodwater Receding, Deputy Chief Minister to Visit Balasore Today

According to the Flood Control Room, the flood situation in the state is showing signs of improvement. The water levels of the Subarnarekha, Budhabalanga, Jalaka, and Baitarani rivers have started receding and are now below danger level. Deputy Chief Minister Prabhati Parida will visit Balasore tomorrow (Thursday) to review the flood situation. During the visit, she will assess the condition of flood-affected areas like Bhogarai, Baliapal, and Akhuapada. Discussions will also be held regarding administrative preparedness. As part of the program, Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Parida will also conduct an aerial survey of the flood-affected regions.
