Bhubaneswar: The temperature has started rising again. Western Odisha will experience intense heat. The state will face scorching heat along with heatwave conditions. While there was a slight drop in temperature for the past 3 to 4 days, it has started increasing again today. Due to this rise, the Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert.
A heatwave warning has been issued for March 13 and 14. The heat will be unbearable in Western Odisha and interior regions. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning for Sambalpur, Kalahandi, Jharsuguda, Balangir, Boudh, and Sonepur. In these districts, temperatures may exceed 40°C.
As the temperature has been gradually increasing since Monday, it is expected to rise by 3 to 4°C within five days. The dry weather will continue for the next seven days. Even in some coastal districts of Odisha, the temperature may touch 40°C.
The Meteorological Department has advised people to carry water bottles, cover their heads with scarves or caps, use umbrellas, and wear cotton clothes while stepping outside. From the second week of March, the state will experience dry heat along with thunderstorms. After 10 AM, stepping outside may become unbearable.
