Bhubaneswar: The protest by Odisha Health Mission Management Employees’ Association has entered its 13th day, demanding the creation of Public Health Management posts and the regularization of their jobs. Due to the ongoing agitation, office operations have been disrupted, and many issues have arisen.
Notably, TB patients are unable to receive government-provided medicines and food supplies. Pregnant women are facing delays in receiving post-delivery incentive payments. There is difficulty in procuring essential diagnostic kits, causing a disruption in malaria and non-communicable disease management. Various incentive payments for doctors and other healthcare workers have also been halted.
Additionally, there are concerns that the Mahaprayana (dead body transport) service might be suspended, and vaccination programs for mothers and children are being hindered. Janitors and sanitation workers at healthcare centers have not received their salaries for the past month, leading to growing dissatisfaction among them.
The association has stated that the protest will continue until their demands are met.
