Nabarangpur, 25th Oct 2025: In Nabarangpur district, a joint meeting of the Health Department and District Social Welfare Department was held today at the Ashok Mehta Conference Hall under the chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Maheswar Swain.
The purpose of this meeting was to identify and address obstacles related to maternal and child health and nutrition through a coordinated action plan, and to promote the overall health and well-being of mothers and children. It was emphasized that all government-provided facilities should reach beneficiaries easily.
Directions were given for pregnant women from remote areas to safely access maternity homes with the coordinated assistance of all CDPOs and medical officers. Arrangements were also discussed to provide birth certificates for all children aged 0 to 6 years in Nabarangpur.
Special attention was given to children with low weight (below 2 kg), and a plan was made to conduct check-ups and prevent blindness within three months. It was also directed that all Anganwadi workers and ASHA workers be informed about the provision of free medical treatment to all children.
