Banshda, 8th Oct 2025: In a shocking incident, the body of a former headmaster, Indramani Nayak, was recovered from a pond in Karan Pokhari village, under Nal Gohira Panchayat of Banshda Police Station jurisdiction.
The deceased’s hands and legs were found tied, and his body was retrieved from a pond located about 200 meters from his house. This has raised strong suspicions of murder.
Upon receiving the information, the Banshda Police along with a scientific team reached the scene and began investigation. According to local residents, they spotted a body floating in the pond on Monday morning and immediately alerted the police.
When police recovered the body, they discovered that the victim’s hands and legs were tied with rope, suggesting foul play. The family of the deceased has alleged that he was murdered.
Police have begun questioning family members and local residents as part of their investigation. Based on a written complaint from the family, police have registered a murder case and launched a full-scale probe into the incident.
