Boipariguda, Jan 27: Harshita Priyadarshini Mohanty of Boipariguda has been featured in the international magazine Innovation Insider 2025. The US-based magazine selects 20 young changemakers each year from across the world who are working in the fields of innovation and environmental protection.
This year, Harshita has been recognised for her work in promoting agricultural biodiversity, particularly the conservation, large-scale cultivation, and preservation of indigenous seed varieties such as traditional paddy, millets (mandia), suan, and other forgotten local foods.
Harshita is popularly known as the “Seed Girl of India.” Earlier, she was honoured as an International Young Eco-Hero by the US-based organization Action for Nature. She has also participated in several international seminars where she delivered speeches highlighting her work.
Her initiatives have been widely appreciated and featured by organisations and platforms such as Action for Nature, Innovation Jewel of Odisha, Centre for Environment, National Coalition for Natural Farming, The Better India, That’s Seed, and several other magazines, which have published detailed reports on her work.
Various local organisations and intellectuals have extended their congratulations to Harshita for this remarkable achievement.
