Malkangiri,29th Sept 2025: In Malkangiri town, a raid was conducted by the GST department at several shops. Following the central government’s decision to reduce GST rates, the prices of various goods have come down.
The inspection was aimed at verifying whether shopkeepers had reduced the prices of goods in accordance with the lowered GST rates. The GST team also created awareness among shopkeepers about the GST reduction and how it should affect the pricing of each item.
The inspection was carried out under the leadership of Malkangiri district GST Officer and Deputy Commissioner Premchand Jani. Other officials involved included GST Officer Trinath Pairapu, Sudhanshu Mallik, Assistant GST Officer Amaresh Kumar Mahunt, and Assistant GST Officer Ranjan Kumar Sahu.
Earlier, Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi had also visited some shops, inquiring about price adjustments after the GST reduction and raising awareness among traders and the public.
