Malkangirir.Mar, 30: On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, a grand and large-scale procession of Lord Sri Ram was आयोजित at Balimela in Malkangiri district under tight security arrangements.
The कार्यक्रम began with rituals at Odia Sahi in the local market area, where पूजा, Homa Yajna, and Aarti of Lord Sri Ram, Mata Sita, and Lord Hanuman were performed as per tradition. After the rituals, the procession started from the daily market area, passed through Office Colony, Main Road, Kalichhak, Ambedkar Chowk, and returned back to the market.
A large number of devotees participated in the procession. As one of the major festivals of Hindus, people of all ages—from children to the elderly—joined enthusiastically. Devotional songs played on DJ systems and chants of “Jai Shri Ram” created a vibrant and spiritual atmosphere throughout the town.
Members of RSS and other Sanatan devotees showed immense enthusiasm. Students from Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Swami Vivekananda School, and Aurobindo School, along with hundreds of devotees carrying flags, took part in the procession and circled the town of Balimela.
The entire environment turned devotional and festive. The event concluded with the distribution of prasad.
To ensure a smooth and peaceful आयोजन, strict security arrangements were made by the police and administration under the leadership of Balimela Police Station Officer-in-Charge Dhiren Pattnaik. Members of the Contractors’ Association, including Arun Patra, Sanjib Dora, Chagala Biswal, Tulu Pradhan, and others, also extended their cooperation, ensuring the successful and safe completion of the event.
