Kotpad, 12th Sept 2025: The Secretary to the Governor of Odisha, IAS officer Rupa Roshan Sahu, along with the Deputy Collector of Jeypore, Shasya Reddy, visited the Dangariguda Handloom Cooperative Society Centre located under SB Nuagaon Panchayat in Kotpad block. During the visit, they highly praised the handloom work being done in the Kotpad region.
They specifically appreciated the use of natural dyes in the production of clothes and garments, emphasizing that no chemical colors are used. They recognized this as an innovative effort to promote the traditional “Mirgan” fabric at a national level. The Secretary also stated that the clothes produced at the Dangariguda Handloom Cooperative Society Centre will occupy a unique place in the market.
During today’s visit, other officials such as Kotpad BDO Sandhya Rani Samartha, Kotpad Tehsildar Twinkle Sethy, District Education Officer for Scheduled Caste and Tribe Department Sunil Tandi, and officers from various departments were also present.
