Koraput, 15th Sept 2025: Governor Dr. Raghubar Das arrived in Koraput district on Monday for a two-day visit. He was welcomed at Jeypore Airport by District Collector Manoj Satyavan Mahajan, SP Rohit Verma, and Jeypore Sub-Collector Akaram Shasya Reddy.
Later, the Governor visited the Central Coffee Board in Koraput, where he interacted with local coffee farmers. He remarked that Koraput Coffee holds a distinct identity in the global market. Nearly 90% of the region in the district is engaged in coffee cultivation, and he discussed with officials the need to expand market access for Koraput Coffee in the future.
He also visited the coffee plantations at the Coffee Board office in Koraput and tasted the locally brewed coffee. At the Koraput Circuit House, he held discussions with NALCO officials, emphasizing that NALCO, a Navratna company, should be transformed into a Maharatna PSU.
While reviewing the development of Koraput Coffee, he inquired about its current status and the condition of the surrounding areas, focusing on regional development. He also interacted with the authorities of the Shaheed Laxman Nayak Medical College, discussing the quality of healthcare and inspecting the campus. The Governor stressed the need to provide strong and high-quality healthcare services, calling it the “only goal.”
Additionally, he met with Sij Rani Harshita Priyadarshini Mahanti, Padma Shri awardee Gobardhan Panika, as well as officials from the Indian Red Cross Society and representatives from financial institutions.
In the evening, the Governor visited the Shabar Shrikhetra – Shri Jagannath Temple in Koraput, where he offered prayers and performed rituals.
