Government to Distribute Deworming Medicine to Over 4 Lakh People

Nabarangpur The district-level National Deworming Day (February round) was inaugurated at Raja Chaitanya Dev Government High School in Nabarangpur. The event was graced by key dignitaries including CDMO Dr. Santosh Kumar Panda, DEO Chhatrapati Sahu, District Social Welfare Officer Draupadi Kahnar, DIPRO Manoj Kumar Behera, and DPM Sushant Kumar Praharaj.

CDMO Dr. Panda addressed the students, explaining the purpose of Deworming Day, the benefits of taking deworming tablets, preventive measures against parasitic infections, and raising awareness about anemia.

National Deworming Day in Nabarangpur District

The guests highlighted how deworming tablets help in maintaining both physical and mental well-being, enhancing academic performance, and creating awareness. Deworming medication will be administered to all children aged 1 to 19 years, as well as to women aged 20 to 24 years who are not pregnant or postpartum.

In Nabarangpur district:

Around 1,19,231 children under 5 years will receive deworming syrup.

About 3,01,323 children and adolescents aged 6 to 19 years will be given deworming tablets.

Approximately 34,500 women aged 20 to 24 years (excluding pregnant and postpartum women) will receive deworming medication.
