Nabarangpur: On the occasion of the completion of 11 years of the Central Government and 1 year of the State Government, a Vikas Mela (Development Fair) was organized with the aim of presenting the government’s report card to the general public and directly distributing incentives to beneficiaries of various government schemes.
On this occasion, under the district nodal responsibility, State Minister for Mines, Commerce and Transport Shri Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, School and Mass Education and Tribal Affairs Minister Nityananda Gond, MP Balabhadra Majhi, Nabarangpur MLA Gauri Shankar Majhi, and Jharigaon MLA Narsingha Bhatra began various efforts for the development of the district, including visits to different areas.
Minister Shri Jena stated that Nabarangpur district is under the focus of the double-engine government. In a press conference held at the local Circuit House, the achievements of the government over the past year and the plans ahead were shared.
To preserve the glorious memories of martyrs and freedom fighters, the government has announced a grant of ₹6 crore for the development of memorial sites. The district, rich in natural beauty, is being developed as a tourism corridor, with initiatives beginning for the development of historical Podagad Fort, Mrug Vihar, Indravati Dam, Chandandhara and Saidhar Waterfalls, Bhaskel River Dam, Hili and Manda Dongar Hills, among other sites, according to the minister.
While the Nabarangpur Bypass and Bharatmala Project work is ongoing, the district is being transformed into an economic corridor. Projects such as the Jeypore–Nabarangpur Railway Line, establishment of a medical college, and construction of a stadium are being regarded as major achievements for the district.
Various schemes like PM-Kisan, Subhadra, Lakhpati Didi, Ayushman Bharat, PM Awas Yojana, and increased MSP for paddy farmers are creating new directions for beneficiaries.
Minister Jena mentioned that while the double-engine government is progressing toward building a Prosperous Odisha by 2036 and a Developed India by 2047, the government seeks the cooperation of 4.5 crore Odias.
The press conference was attended by ministers, MPs, MLAs, former MP Parshuram Majhi, and district BJP president Kunj Bihari Dash, among others.
