Bhubaneswar , 12th Sept 2025: The government has begun the process of reclaiming land assets belonging to Lord Jagannath (referred to as Mahaprabhu). Efforts are underway to recover these lands both within Odisha and outside the state. This was informed by Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan.
According to reports, around 58,000 acres of land belonging to Mahaprabhu are spread across various locations. Of this, documents for 36,000 to 37,000 acres have already been prepared. The process of preparing documents for the remaining land is ongoing. The government is working on this with urgency and dedication.
Efforts are also being made to accurately assess all of Mahaprabhu’s properties, including those in Puri and other regions inside and outside the state. The minister stated that necessary actions are being taken to ensure that all these assets are once again used exclusively for the service of Lord Jagannath.
