Bhubaneswar, 22nd Sept 2025: All government employees who have served for more than three years in the offices of District Collectors, Sub-Collectors, Blocks, and Tahsils must be immediately transferred. Although the tenure for transfer has already been exceeded in many cases, it has been instructed that approval from higher authorities must be taken for any further delay. The Revenue Department has issued a letter to all District Collectors conveying this directive.
According to the letter, the main objective is to ensure better public service delivery.
Letter to All District Collectors from the Revenue Department
The Revenue Department plays a key administrative role. However, complaints have been received by the government against some officers and employees. Despite the state government’s previous independent guidelines on transfers, it has come to light that some employees have been serving in the same place for many years. This situation is believed to be encouraging corruption, negligence in official work, and nepotism.
To ensure transparency in administration and to enhance the efficiency of government employees, the government has issued instructions for immediate transfer of those who have been in the same posting for more than three years.
Additionally, a report detailing the actions taken on this directive must be submitted to the department within 15 days.
