Bhubaneswar, 1st Aug 2025: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi conducted an aerial survey of flood-affected areas in Balasore, Bhadrak, and Jajpur districts.
The flood has impacted 81 gram panchayats in 8 blocks of Jajpur district. Following a zero casualty policy, the government has ensured all necessary arrangements for affected people.
While nearly 30,000 people have been affected across these districts, around 5,869 individuals have been relocated to safe shelters. With water levels in various rivers now receding, the Chief Minister expressed hope that the situation would soon return to normal.
After completing his aerial survey on Wednesday, the Chief Minister briefed the media at Lok Seva Bhawan, stating:
In Balasore district, the worst-hit blocks are Basta, Baliapal, Bhogarai, and Jaleswar.
In Bhadrak district, the affected areas include Dhamnagar and Bhandaripokhari.
In Jajpur district, Jajpur and Dasarathpur blocks have been significantly affected.
The Chief Minister highlighted the government’s emphasis on zero loss of life and mentioned that cooked meals are being provided daily to over 10,000 people for seven consecutive days.
