Jeypore The Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) has introduced a government bus service to the famous Shaiva pilgrimage site, Gupteshwar. According to DTM Srinivas Panigrahi, the bus will operate daily between Damanjodi and Gupteshwar.
As per the information received, this government bus, with a seating capacity of 40, will provide express service. The bus will depart from Damanjodi at 6:00 AM and travel via Semiliguda, Sunabeda, Dumuriput, and Koraput, reaching the Jaypur Government Bus Stand. At 8:25 AM, it will pick up passengers and proceed through Baipariguda and Ramgiri, arriving at Gupteshwar at 10:45 AM.
The bus will halt at Gupteshwar for about 2.5 hours, allowing devotees ample time for a peaceful darshan of Lord Mahadev. The return journey will commence at 1:30 PM, following the same route and reaching Jaypur at 3:50 PM. From there, the bus will depart at 4:10 PM, reaching Damanjodi by 6:35 PM, where it will halt overnight before resuming the service the next day.
This initiative ensures that devotees can conveniently visit Gupteshwar, have darshan, and return comfortably on the same day. Previously, a government bus operated from Koraput to Gupteshwar, but it was discontinued due to COVID-19 restrictions.
