Nabarangpur: With dense village forests and government-protected forests in various locations of Nandahandi and Tentulikhunti blocks, concerns over forest security have increased. As temperatures rise, the risk of forest fires has also grown.
To address this issue, Nandahandi Group Development Officer Sunil Khora, along with forest officials Ritesh Suna, guards Pindhu Swain, Babula Singh, and Feraj Kumar Bhatara, visited villages to raise awareness. They discussed ways to prevent forest fires and emphasized the importance of protecting forests and wildlife.
As part of this initiative, Officer Khora educated villagers on safeguarding forest resources and biodiversity. Ritesh Suna and his team are conducting weekly visits to different villages, engaging with locals and promoting forest conservation through awareness programs. They are also encouraging people to plant trees in open areas near roads and villages.
Currently, posters are being put up in villages to spread awareness, and the initiative is being widely appreciated as a positive step toward forest conservation.
