New Delhi The Odisha government has amended the 2020 guidelines to provide government jobs to the family members of deceased employees in government and fully grant-aided institutions, as per the 1990 guidelines. The amendment was communicated to the Odisha Advocate General, Pitamber Acharya, by the bench of Chief Justice J.K. Maheshwari and Justice Arvind Kumar. As a result, the uncertainty in compassionate appointments will be removed, and this provision will no longer apply to institutions that have received block grants of fewer than 3,000. The BJD government of Odisha has assured this decision to the public. This decision will come into effect as per the government’s 2020 amendment on compassionate appointments.
