Government Announces Free Distribution of 5 Kg Rice

Bhubaneswar, April 10:  To further strengthen food security, a new scheme has been introduced:
Beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and State Food Security Scheme (SFSS) will receive additional rice.
Apart from the regular monthly allotted quota, an extra 5 kg of rice will be provided.
Each person will get 5 kg of additional rice per month free of cost.
Around 1,96,297 families covering 3.28 crore beneficiaries will benefit from this scheme.
