Bhubaneswar, Mar, 31: Ration for three months will be distributed at once in April.
Keeping in view the rising inflation and the increasing burden of household expenses, the government has taken a welfare-oriented decision.
Under this new arrangement, eligible beneficiaries will receive ration for the upcoming three months—April, May, and June 2026—together in the month of April itself.
The main objective of this step is to simplify and make the public distribution system more convenient. Earlier, beneficiaries had to visit ration shops every month to collect food grains, which increased both time and travel expenses.
Now, with three months’ ration being provided at once, this problem will be resolved.
This new system will also reduce crowding at ration shops and make the distribution process smoother and more efficient.
For this purpose, the government is using e-POS (electronic Point of Sale) machines and digital systems, ensuring transparency and accuracy in ration distribution.
