Jeypore,28th Aug 2025: The only genuine demand of the district-level staff has been that Junior Assistants should be granted an entry-level pay of ₹4,200/- with ₹200/- grade pay, as per the recommendations of the 6th Pay Commission. Since 1990, the Odisha Amala Sangha has been approaching the government with this demand. They have submitted memoranda, reminders, worn black badges, taken mass leave, and staged protests. Ultimately, the then government promised them relief but later deceived them, leaving district-level staff disappointed and frustrated.
Now, under the new government, the Odisha Amala Sangha has once again raised the issue of district-level employees. On Friday, 11.08.2024, Odisha Amala Sangha’s state general secretary Sri Chittaranjan Rasia, along with other office bearers, submitted a memorandum to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha. They requested immediate fulfillment of the district-level staff’s just demand and held discussions on the matter.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister assured that he would soon hold talks with the Odisha Amala Sangha leadership and take steps towards resolving the issue. Informing the press, Sri Shashibhusan Dash, President of the Koraput district unit of Odisha Amala Sangha and also the State Additional General Secretary, said that the Chief Minister is already aware of their demand.
