Kanoth, 19th Nov 2025: A Gita recitation competition was organized at Raipur under the Kanoth block. The event was inaugurated by distinguished educationist Trilochan Senapati. More than 46 students from various schools participated in the competition and recited verses from the Gita. Based on the evaluation by the judges, all participants were classified into the categories of Excellent, Good, and Average.
Pandit Mahant Hanant Upendra Nath Das, Pandit Baidhar Senapati, Pandit Arvind Satapathy, and Pandit Ranjan Jan Kumar Nanda assisted in the competition. The main organizer of the event was Pandit Bhupesh Kumar Semapati. The prize distribution ceremony was presided over by him, and the chief guest and presiding dignitary was noted literary figure Dr. Sarbeswar Sen. The chief speaker was Dr. Atal Bihari Panda, a professor of Physics at Birupa College. Eminent educationist Baidhar Jena also participated as a guest and explained the essence of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita in simple language, encouraging students to apply it in their daily lives to become better citizens.
Library editor Himanshu Bhushan Jena presented the editorial overview, Pandit Sudhir Kumar Senapati delivered the welcome speech, and Bijay Kumar Jena introduced the guests. On this occasion, notable individuals who had achieved excellence in various fields, such as Basant Kumar Pradhan, Shivshankar Pradhan, Pushpalata Ashok Kumar Bhanja, Saroj Kumar Bhuya, Smritiranjan Mahapatra, Kshetrabasii Panda, Kalpataru Jena, Shridhar Senapati, Pandit Rangadhar Senapati, poet Subash Chandra Bhuya, journalist Umesh Chandra Senapati, Shubhasish Mahapatra, Divyajyoti Samal, and Ajaga Anurag Mahanti, were felicitated by the library.
All members of the library and villagers cooperated in the successful organization of this program. Lokanath Kanath Senapati also expressed his gratitude.
